Tesla CEO Elon Musk thinks you should avoid wasting your money on a “silly” Apple Polishing Cloth and instead spend it on his company’s $50 Cyberwhistle.
Inspired by Cybertruck, the limited-edition collectible — which is not a joke — is made from medical-grade stainless steel with a polished finish. It also features “an integrated attachment feature for added versatility.”
Tesla’s latest product is a $50 whistle
Apple’s $19 Polishing Cloth gained a surprising amount of attention when it hit the Apple Store after October’s big MacBook Pro event. Despite its price tag, it quickly sold out and still faces shipping delays of up to eight weeks.
The cloth promises to “gently and effectively” clean any Apple display. But Musk thinks it’s “silly” — and says you shouldn’t waste your money on it. Instead, he’s encouraging Tesla fans to drop $50 on a Cyberwhistle.
The Cyberwhistle is a limited-edition product, inspired by Tesla’s elusive Cybertruck, that actually functions as a whistle. And despite also being pretty silly, it didn’t take long for the Cyberwhistle to sell out.
The Tesla Cyberwhistle is already sold out
It’s not clear how many units were available, but some of Musk’s followers on Twitter tweeted pictures that showed them buying five or more. Some have already listed theirs on eBay for more than double the original price.
The Cyberwhistle, unlike Apple’s Polishing Cloth, is likely to be worth a lot more than that in the future. If you managed to bag one, hold onto it for as long as you can. You could end up sitting on a small fortune.
